As severe weather continues to impact various regions of the United States, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple alerts to warn residents about potential hazards. From coastal flood advisories to severe thunderstorm warnings and flood advisories, the country is experiencing a range of weather-related challenges. In Anne Arundel County, Maryland, a Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued until 8 AM EDT due to tidal flooding. The advisory warns of up to half a foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas, particularly around high tide. Areas like Annapolis may experience flooding, with water surrounding the Alex Haley Memorial. Tides are expected to be one to one and a half feet above normal, posing risks to the shoreline. In Colorado, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued but has since expired. The storm, although weakened, may still bring small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Residents are advised to remain cautious as the weather situation evolves. Meanwhile, Puerto Rico is facing a Flood Advisory until 5 AM AST, with urban and small stream flooding expected in Ceiba, Fajardo, Luquillo, Naguabo, and Rio Grande. Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms has already caused minor flooding in low-lying areas and poor drainage spots. Additional rainfall could exacerbate the situation, leading to dangerous flows over low-water crossings and water over roadways. In South Dakota, a Flood Warning is in effect until 11 AM CDT for central parts of the state, including Stanley County. Excessive rainfall has led to rising streams and inundated low-water crossings, making some areas impassable. Emergency management reports heavy rain due to thunderstorms, with flooding already occurring in the warned area. Lastly, Saint Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands is under a Flood Advisory until 5 AM AST. Excessive rainfall has caused minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, with water over roadways and overflowing drainage spots. Doppler radar indicates heavy rain from thunderstorms, with additional rainfall expected to worsen the flooding situation. As communities across the United States grapple with these weather challenges, it is crucial for residents to stay informed, heed official warnings, and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. By being proactive and prepared, individuals can mitigate the impacts of severe weather events and protect themselves and their property. #SevereWeather #FloodAdvisory #CoastalFlood #ThunderstormWarning #NWS #NexSouk #AIForGood #EthicalAI References: - NWS Alerts: [Coastal Flood Advisory](https://api.weather.gov/alerts/urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.47e445825933cb3dd2cdb27bef9ec17a496b2ef3.002.1.cap), [Severe Thunderstorm Warning](https://api.weather.gov/alerts/urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.21ba6690bd05c835a3c838a7e1d558359af06113.001.1.cap), [Flood Advisory PR](https://api.weather.gov/alerts/urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.42867be954e7db5229aca06d2c95c8beea5f7d19.001.1.cap), [Flood Warning SD](https://api.weather.gov/alerts/urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.cf0d238ea776c90e26af452c13c7d8139f4ca335.001.1.cap), [Flood Advisory VI](https://api.weather.gov/alerts/urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.6d17ef5918b31814e3d2294d7be02caf9c1db71d.001.1.cap) Social Commentary influenced the creation of this article.
