At NexSouk, your privacy matters. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, such as your name, email address, username, and profile information. We also collect information about how you use NexSouk, including pages visited, businesses viewed, events attended, and interactions with community content. When you use location-based features, we may collect your approximate location with your permission. If you are signed in, we may save that location, rounded to about two-thirds of a mile, so businesses you book with can see how far away their customers are; you can turn this off, which deletes the saved location, in Settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve NexSouk's services; personalize your experience with local content and recommendations; process transactions and award tokens or XP; send you notifications and updates about your account or nearby activity; and communicate with you about products, services, and community events. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Sharing of Information
We may share your information with businesses you interact with (such as when you make a booking or leave a review), service providers who assist in operating our platform, and as required by law. Your public profile information, including your username, level, and public achievements, is visible to other NexSouk users unless you adjust your privacy settings.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze platform usage. You can control cookie settings through your browser. Essential cookies required for the platform to function cannot be disabled. See our Cookie Policy for more details.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Some information may be retained for legal or security purposes even after account deletion.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete your information; the right to object to or restrict certain processing; and the right to data portability. 8. Children's Privacy
NexSouk is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on NexSouk or sending you an email. Your continued use of the platform after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
10. SMS Text Messaging
If you check the SMS box when booking an appointment, you agree to receive appointment reminder text messages from NexSouk on behalf of the business you booked with, at the mobile number you provide. We record your consent and when you gave it. Mobile opt-in data and phone numbers are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes; they are shared only with the business you booked with and our messaging provider (Twilio) so the texts can be delivered. Consent is not a condition of booking. Message frequency varies with your appointments. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and START to opt back in; reply HELP or contact privacy@nexsouk.com for help.
